Assistant Professor, Department of Public and Business Administration, University of Cyprus GE Capital Chair Professor of Mid-Market Companies at Warwick Business School, University of Warwick Dr. Nicos Nicolaou is the GE Capital Chair Professor of Mid-Market Companies at Warwick Business School, University of Warwick and Assistant Professor of Management at the Department of Public and Business Administration at the University of Cyprus. He previously held faculty and/or visiting positions at Imperial College London, University of Cambridge, Cass Business School and the University of Cyprus. His research has been mentioned on the CNN, BBC, The Times, USA Today, ABC News, Reuters, MSNBC, Washington Post, The New York Times, The Independent, Daily Telegraph, AOL News, etc. He was included in Who’s Who in the World and Who’s Who in Science and Engineering and has been awarded the Principal’s Award for the best teaching scores at Imperial College London. He has published in top journals like Management Science, Journal of Applied Psychology, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Journal of Business Venturing, Human Resource Management (US), Research Policy, Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal and others. His doctoral dissertation (from Imperial College London) was awarded the Psion Prize for the best doctoral thesis. He received the 2013 INFORMS Technology Management Best Paper Award for the best paper published in 2008 in Management Science or Organization Science, two of the leading journals in the field. Nicos has been a Member of the National Committee for Research, Innovation and Technological Development. There are four major themes in Nicos’ research. The first focuses on university spinouts and the commercialization of academic research, the second on the management of innovation, the third on social networks, and the fourth on the biology of entrepreneurship. He has served as a member of numerous university committees including the Business School Research Committee and the University Senate (at Imperial College London), and the Committee for Business-Industry Interaction and the Patents Committee (at the University of Cyprus).
