Peter is an experienced executive and entrepreneur who has formed several technology-based start-ups, been Managing Director of another company which he sold to a PLC, and acted as a business coach and angel investor.
 
Since 2000 Peter has led a number of “open innovation” and entrepreneurial not-for profit organisations including:

  • for the Innovate UK (the UK government’s innovation agency), Peter secured the initial £50 million funding and led the planning and creation of the Digital Catapult as a national centre of collaborative research and innovation in digital technologies
  • formed and ran the London Technology Network as an open innovation broker which helped executives to accelerate their technological innovations by linking them to university scientists (>300 university-Business collaborations stimulated per year)
  • CEO of CSEL, a charitable joint venture between London Business School and UCL, which had the mission to stimulate and support technology-based entrepreneurship.
He has supported the social and economic impact of the research base in many ways including being on a university Council, chairing a business incubator, sitting on committees awarding many £millions in “proof of concept” funding to academics, judging many university business plan competitions and teaching entrepreneurship.
