The main scientific objective of this innovative project is to combine techniques for motion synthesis and human modelling, which are utilised by the computer animation community, with theories about human motion that are commonly used in dance notation and choreography. A visual platform will be implemented for real-time interaction between a real performer and a virtual character, based on their mutual feedback, to compose a contemporary dance scenario.

Alongside the techniques developed in this project, the DanceDB (an open-data Dance motion database) has been created: http://dancedb.cs.ucy.ac.cy
